Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is now busy preparing for Rakshabandhan. The department does not want to leave any stone unturned to make the journey of sisters to their brothers homes easier. That is why UPSRTC has reserved buses and started streamlining commute.
At the same time, a letter has also been written to the traffic police to deal with the possible jam on the festival of Rakshabandhan. 200 buses have been reserved to make the journey of sisters easier in Ghaziabad area. Buses will be operated from a total of eight bus depots in Ghaziabad. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the drivers and conductors of the Transport Corporation will be allowed to go on leave only under special circumstances.
Shiv Balak, Assistant Regional Manager of UPSRTC Kaushambi Depot, claims that there will be no problem in getting buses for sisters on Rakshabandhan.
Arrangements have been made to operate 200 additional buses in the Ghaziabad area especially for Rakshabandhan. The frequency of buses going towards Hapur, Gajraula, Moradabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Meerut will be increased. The Assistant Regional Manager said that a letter has been sent to the traffic police to avoid traffic jams on Rakshabandhan.
In the letter, it has been requested that adequate traffic arrangements should be made to deal with the jams on NH-9 at Model Town, Chhijarsi, Vijaynagar, Lalkuan, Mohannagar, Meerut Tiraha, Muradnagar and Modinagar as well as Hapur turn, so that sisters do not have to face jams while reaching their brothers.
According to ARM, sisters are given the facility of free travel on Rakshabandhan, although no order has come from the headquarters in this regard yet, but it is expected that an order may come in this regard soon.
